Miss USA 2006 facts (some found on Missosology.org)
1. Tara is one of the shortest Miss USA standing at 5'5". Kimberly Presserly, Miss USA 1999 represented USA at Miss Universe 1999 and failed to make the top 10.
 
2. Tara is the first woman from Kentucky to win the Miss USA crown. She succeeds Kristen Johnson, Miss Kentucky USA 2005, also Miss USA and Miss Teen USA 2nd RU.

3. Tara is a graduate of Russell County High School in Kentucky.
 
4. Tara is the 6th Woman to compete at Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, and Miss Teen USA. She is the 8th Miss USA to compete at Miss Teen USA in 11 years.

The Miss USA 2006 pageant was held yesterday at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. 50 states and DC participated, and the winner was former Miss Teen USA 2nd runner up, Tara Conner from Kentucky. She is 20 years old and stands at 1.67m. She will represent USA at the Miss Universe 2006 pageant in July. She will also appeared in national events and travel around the world. The Miss USA 2006 delegates and about 20 former Miss Universe titleholders gathered in Trump Tower for the press conference of the book "Universal Beauty: The Miss Universe Guide To Beauty" on April 18th. Miss Universe 2005, Natalie Glebova, Miss Teen USA 2005, Allie Laforce, Miss Universe 1996, Miss Universe 1997, Miss Universe 1992, and more attended the event.

On , the 51 delegates' presentation show video clips are up. View the contestants in swimsuits and evening gowns. Pageant Beauties' would judge the delegates again and the results would be posted on later today or tomorrow.

4/14/06: On the , the online voting for Miss Photogenic starts. Visit there to view the 51 delegates in Fadil Berisha headshots and vote 3 delegates for Miss Photogenic. The winner would be announced on the final night live on NBC.   
 
4/13/06: The Miss USA 2006 Deal Or No Deal episode aired yesterday on NBC. All the show details and which of the contestants looked beautiful would be posted later on today. 4/9/06: The NBC Miss USA 2006 site left out one judge. He is Chad Hedrick (2006 Winter Olympics gold medalist). Besides that, the Miss USA 2006 site announced the performers and the preliminary judges. The performers are East Village Opera Company.

4/8/06: The Miss USA 2006 delegates had arrived at Baltimore, Maryland! The 50 states and District of Columbia will compete for the chance of a lifetime, to become Miss USA 2006 and represent USA at Miss Universe 2006! Before we get to the final night, there are many events and activities for the contestants to enjoy in Baltimore in the 13 days left of the pageant. On April 18, 2006, the delegates would travel to NYC, and make the first book of the MUO: Universal Beauty: The Miss Universe Guide to Beauty. They will also visit NYC for fittings in the designer Tadashi's Garment Industry showroom and pose for local media at MARS 2112 for a photo opportunity.  
 
All the delegates would be in the grand hotel, Grand Hyatt. 20 former Miss Universes will join the delegates for this event, with renowned chef, David Burke making delicious desserts.

4/1/06: After 3 years of broadcasting, Fear Factor will not have an episode featuring 6 delegates of the Miss USA 2006 pageant. This year they will only be featured on Deal or No Deal with Miss USA 2005, Chelsea Cooley. Chelsea will crown her successor on April 21, 2006 in Baltimore, Maryland on NBC.

3/25/06: Before the final broadcast of Miss USA 2006 pageant on NBC, April 21, 2006, there will also be other shows featuring the delegates. 26 lucky delegates would be featured with Miss USA 2005, Chelesa Cooley in Deal Or No Deal. The show would be broadcasted on April 14, 2006 at 8pm eastern/ 7pm central on NBC. The 26 delegates include: Misses Alabama, Arkansas, Calfornia, Delaware, Florida, illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Utah, and Virginia, West Virginia.

3/23/06: Announced by NBC, the Miss USA 2006 pageant would be held on April 21, 2006. The pageant would be broadcasted live from Baltimore, Maryland at 9pm, Eastern primetime. NBC also announced that Access Hollywood's Nancy O' Dell and the winner of Dancing With the Stars, Drew Lachey, would host the pageant. Carson Kressley will also cohost the show and be a pageant commentary, telling the audience on the ladies gown, and their beauty looks to their on stage presentation.

2/19/06: The Miss USA 2006 pageant is here! 50 states and DC would vie for the crown on April 21, 2006. This year's pageant venue is also Baltimore, Maryland, but it is moving to the 1st Mariner Arena (a whole new indoor sports and entertainment facility). The offical hotel of Miss USA 2006 is Wyndham Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel . The awards on the final night are Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality, with the elimination cut from 51 to 15 (depending on preliminary scores and you votes on covergirl.com), top 10 (after evening gown competition), top 5 (after swimsuit and announcement of award winners), and the announcement of 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st runner ups, the winner (all after the final question round).                      

Lots of state winners have relationship with the television or had prior pageant experience. They include: Miss Georgia (a semifinalist at American Idol 3) and Miss Connecticut (CT winner of America's Next Top Model, search in 2004). Besides that other contestants represented their respective states during the Miss Teen USA pageant. They include Miss New York (Miss NY Teen USA 2003, represented NY at Miss Teen USA 2003), Miss Virginia (Miss Virginia Teen USA 2003, represented Virginia at Miss Teen USA 2003), Miss Wyoming (Miss Wyoming Teen USA 2000, represented Wyoming at Miss Teen USA 2000), Miss Ohio (Miss Ohio Teen USA 1998, represented Ohio at Miss Teen USA 1998), Miss Florida (Miss Florida Teen USA 1997, represented Florida at Miss Teen USA 1997), and Miss Kentucky (Miss Kentucky Teen USA 2002, where she represented Kentucky at Miss Teen USA 2002, where she won 2nd runner up and bagged the Bluepoint Swimsuit award).

Other contestants competed at beauty pageants are: Miss Idaho (Miss Rodeo Idaho 2004, also Appearance & Personality, and Speech & Horsemanship award winner.  Miss Photogenic and Horsemanship at Miss Rodeo America 2005), Miss Massachusetts (2nd RU and Miss Congeniality at Miss Massachusetts Teen USA 2003 pageant), and Miss North Dakota (2nd RU at Miss Teen International Scholarship).
