Best and Worst of MCI 2006

Video: The pretty ones I think are: Vancouver, NY, Bangkok, Johannesburg, Toronto, Manila, and HK.

I like the stage. Really colorful. Their black dresses were unique and sparkly.

Great Introductions: Vancouver (great smile and calm), Seattle, Bangkok (managed to remember cantonese), Johannesburg (bright smile), Kuala Lumpar (loud and confident), Taipei (great voice), Tahiti (managed to remember cantonese lines), and HK. Not that good introductions: NY (struggled on last word), and Manila (forget cantonese lines).

The talent portion was excellent! Justin Lo (Jade Solid Gold favorite male gold winner) sang and played the piano to introduce the first 9 contestants. Then came Kenny Kwan (male bronze winner) who  performed the saxophone and introduced 10, and 12-17 contestants.

Great talents: Vancouver (great dress and very unique dance), NY (unique and traditional belly dance and an impressive end), Seattle (colorful ribbon dance but too short), Toronto (love her dish dance, I can't dance like that, could you?), and Tahiti (I can't shake hips like that, could  you?). Not so good talents: Sydney (don't like her singing voice but piano skills are okay) and HK (showed the string).

For the swimsuits portion, I like the set and the background. Swimsuits not too revealing, which is good. Catwalk: Vancouver, NY, Kuala Lumpar, Toronto, and HK. Good Interviews: Vancouver, Seattle (perfect interview describing how duck tongues moves like how she likes talking), Kuala Lumpar (very funny and daring interview), Toronto (very good interview describing how bean curd helps people like her), Manila, and HK. Not so good interviews: Chicago (very hard food to describe but saying that a pig is smart gives Eric T. to laugh at you...), and Tahiti (not enough reasons to explain how fried eggs is like yourself and keeps on laughing).

Qipao: Beautiful. Very traditional chinese qipaos and every contestant has a different color. Great singers: NY, Toronto, Kuala Lumpar, and Seattle.  Not very good singers:  Taipei, Lima, and Sydney.

Then came the distribution of Miss Friendship and Miss Young awards, and announcement of the top 5. As for the fortune telling part, none of the tellers were right. Vancouver didn't make the top 3, Bangkok was half right, Johannesburg made top 3, Kuala Lumpar was totally wrong (made top 5 and how is her personality bad if she won Miss Friendship?), and Toronto was shut out of the top 3.

The acrobats portion was very good. As for crowning, the entire court, and Miss Friendship came back, but like 1995, 1997, and more, they mixed up the 1st and 2nd runner up crowns! As for the results, at first I was very disappointed. How did Johannesburg place that high, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpar too? Why did Toronto and Vancouver get shut out of the top 3, with Tracy shut out of the top 5? After viewing the show, Johannesburg and Kuala Lumpar deserved it. Vancouver should of replaced Bangkok, where I think Bangkok shouldn't even make the top 5. Tracy's placement was disappointing, but I think Seattle should have placed in the top 5. Her talent, interview, and voice during Brother Tin's performance was excellent, but she didn't place... Overall, the show was good.
