Miss USA 2007 pageant concluded two nights ago. Miss Tennessee USA, Rachel Smith was the winner of the pageant. She also won the swimsuit competition and evening gown competition. Though the evening gown score for Miss Nevada USA was not shown but since Nevada received 5th, then her evening gown score could not have been higher than 9.522. If she did have a higher score, she would of been ahead of California and Kansas. In anyways, Rhode Island finished second, the highest placement since 1973 where Gayle White finished 3rd. A surprise Kansas took 3rd, the home state California finished 4th, and Nevada took 5th. New records also include: another Miss Teen USA delegate winning Miss USA (seven in total, excluding succeeding Miss USAs), California makes top 5 for the 3rd year in a row, Wisconsin makes the cut since 1979, and many more. Invididual records: Rachel Smith (Tennessee) follows the path of Miss USA 2000, Lynnette Cole (also from Tennessee). Though Lynnette placed in the top 6 at Miss Teen USA and Rachel was 9th, both won the Miss Photogenic awards at Miss Teen USA. Now both win Miss USA and will compete at Miss Universe! Nevada's Helen Salas and Texas's Magen Ellis again proved strong at beauty pageants by placing 5th and in the top 10 represectively. Both also made the top 15 at Miss Teen USA 2004, where Helen finished as 2nd runner up. Original Miss Nevada USA 2007, Katie Rees might not have placed that high at Miss USA if she represented. A review of the pageant will be written soon. Best of luck to Rachel at Miss Universe 2007 in Mexico! She will be a big favorite there.

3/23/07:

It has been really fast indeed as the finals are going to take place in less than 2 hours. The 51 delegates will compete in evening gowns, swimsuits, and interview in hoping to become the 56th winner. Nancy O' Dell will be joined by Tim Vincent to host tonight's show. Also for the first time since 2003, the average evening gown and swimsuit scores will be shown during the finals. No preliminary or individual scores of the judges though. After reviewing the delegates the past few days in their photos and also their all important preliminary competitions, I selected the winners. First is PB's Best In Evening Gown and Swimsuit:

PB chose Miss Tennessee USA, Rachel Smith as the best in swimsuit and evening gown. Her gown during the prelimaries was simple and unique. It flowed very much. It was a tight race between her and Miss California USA, Meagan Tandy for the swimsuit award but Rachel won by a marginal with her photo above. Both ladies had amazing swimsuit performances with Rachel's poses and smiles to Meagan's smiles and catwalk. Both did a good job. Next on the list is PB's Best Fadil Berisha Portrait winner:

The winner is Miss Nevada USA, Helen Salas. Her eyes are big and beautiful in this portrait, and her lips and hair are just stunning.

PB's Miss Photogenic goes to...

Yes, it's Rachel again! Her photos look just bstunning and beautiful. A big possibility for the Miss Photogenic award tonight.
